Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a postpartum doula?

A: A postpartum doula provides practical, informational, and emotional care to new and growing families during the postpartum time. Postpartum doulas can work with families when returning home from the birth with baby through the first year, although it’s most typical to have the doula in the home during the first 0-4 months.

Q: Are you certified?

A: Yes, Andrea is a certified postpartum doula through DONA International. She has also completed the ‘lactation for doulas’ class through DONA as part of her training and certification as well.

Q: What areas do you serve?

A: Andrea is located in Hoboken, NJ and serves the larger Northern NJ area- Hudson, Essex, Union, and Bergen counties.

Q: When would I hire you?

A: Families often choose to hire Andrea before they have given birth to have extra hands lined up once they return home. Alternatively, some families reach out after baby is born and they’re needing extra care and assistance.

Q: How do I know what package is right for me?

A: Selecting what package is right for you depends on the needs you anticipate having once baby comes home. Scheduling a free 30-minute consultation with Andrea is the best way to decide how many hours of support you may need.

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: Andrea does not take insurance at this time and functions as an out-of-network provider. She has also worked with Carrot and Progyny via her clients who are able to submit for reimbursement.
